Puri Jagannath

DAY 01:- Bhubaneswar - Puri

  • Bhubaneswar Airport Receive & Hotel transfer at Bhubaneswar for breakfast.

  • Proceed for sightseeing’s are:

 

Khandagiri & Udayagiri Jain Caves: Visit the caves of Udayagiri and Khandagiri dating back to 3rdcentuary BC. The caves are situated in the two adjacent hills Udayagiri (it has 18 caves) and Khandagiri (it has 15 caves).

 

Kala Bhoomi: Odisha Crafts Museum - The museum celebrates the craftsmanship of our artisans by putting on display their breath-taking masterpieces. Divided into 2 blocks, the museum has a display area and a live section. The display area focuses on galleries about Handicrafts and Handlooms from around the state while the live section is equipped with an open-air theatre as well as separate workshop zones. Kala Bhoomi is built using local raw materials such as the laterite stone which can still be seen in some of the oldest monuments around the state. The Museum has Daily Guided Tours which are free and open for all.

 

Dhauli Temple: Visit to Dhauli shanti stupa which is also known as Peace Pagoda. Dhauli hills are located on the banks of river Daya and has major Edicts of Ashoka engraved on a mass of rock. Dhauli hill is presumed to be the area where the Kalinga war was fought. After this war Emperor Ashoka laid down the weapons and accepted Ahimsa in the form of Buddhism.

  • Proceed to Puri, enroot lunch will be served in a restaurant

  • Once arrived in Puri, hotel check in, fresh up and proceed for Jagannath temple.
     

Jagannath Temple: It is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath a form of  VISHNU. It is one of the four great “CHAR DHAM” pilgrimage site &famous for car festival,  Which gives Odisha a place in world map in tourism
 

  • Return to hotel, Dinner & Overnight stay at Puri.

Day 02:- Puri –Chilika – Puri

  • Early morning visit 12th century world famous Jagannath Temple

  • After breakfast, visit Chilika Lake

Chilika Lake:

The Chilika Lake is Asia's largest brackish water lake & Spread across 1100sq km.
The lake is a winter hub of many spectacular migratory birds. The view of sunrise & sunset is a delight to watch.
It is one of the most important eco-tourism sites in the country and lies about 37 km from Puri. Chilika's unique location and water composition make it an ideal home for over 100 varieties of fish, crabs and other sea animals and the star attraction is the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin.
It is running parallel to the Bay of Bengal

  • Arrival Satapara meets the Irrawaddy Dolphins in nature and sea mouth (Meeting Point of sea & Lake (the point where the lake meets the sea)

  • Take lunch evening enjoy Golden Beach and then back to the hotel & overnight stay at Puri

Day 03:- Puri – Konark – Bhubaneswar

  • ​After breakfast checkout and Proceed to Konark.

Chandrabhaga Beach: Chandrabhaga Beach is considered one of the finest beaches along the eastern coast of India.The beach holds great importance in the cultural and traditional identity of Orissa.


Sun Temple (Konark): The temple is World UNESCO heritage site. The name Konark is made after combining two Sanskrit words, Kona (corner or angle) and Ark (the sun). It is dedicated to Sun God.


Arka Khetra Sun Temple Interpretation Centre: This is a brand-new interpretation centre set up by the Indian Oil Foundation for an introduction to the world heritage monument - the Konark Sun Temple. All tourists should keep aside 30-45 minutes for this place before going into the Sun Temple for enhancing their experience. This centre tells the story of the construction & the fall of the sun temple with beautiful replicas and a superb audio-visual introduction (better than any guide). The 15-minute animation movie in this superb auditorium will be particularly interesting for kids. For adults there are galleries depicting the nuances of the temple architecture in Odisha and India along with several miniature replicas. All halls are air-conditioned & the centre includes a restaurant and clean toilets.

Konark Museum - The museum has four galleries that showcase 260 different fallen architectural pieces and sculptures that were found during the clearance work of Konark temple complex. The Konark museum is a treasure house for historians and art lovers.

  • Then transfer to Bhubaneshwar

  • Lunch in a restaurant, Post lunch we can cover

Lingaraj temple: It is dedicated to Hari Hara a form of Shiva and Vishnu (Which is older Than Jagannath Temple)

Mukteswar Temple: An important landmark to the architectural development in Odisha (Orissa), the Mukteswar Temple is often described as one of jewels of Odisha (Orissa) for its exquisite sculptures and elegant looks

  • Utkalika for shopping (If time permits)

  • Evening we will provide packed snacks and then move towards Bhubaneswar airport for your return journey to Bangalore
